Render the beauty of light and landscape in this three-day pastel intensive.
From basic to advanced techniques, master pastel artist and longtime Ah Haa visiting instructor Bruce Gomez will share his own unique approach to painting landscapes from photographs. Students will learn how to layer colors for a deep, lush effect and how to convey authenticity and luminosity through the immediacy of pastels. Bruce will teach students how to prepare paper for pastels, develop sketching and scenic composition skills, and understand color theory. This class is open to all levels of experience, from true beginners to established pros. (If you are a rank beginner, worry not, Bruce will provide lots of hand holding to beginners and all who run into walls of uncertainty or doubt!) All participants will gain technical skills and creative growth to continue painting with pastels on their own.

An important criterion for the highest quality is the control of a watercolor application without undissolved pigment and undesired cloud formations. The perfect flow of HORADAM AQUARELL watercolor is guaranteed by the optimal amount of oxgall.
The reusability and control of the paint flow can only be achieved by pouring watercolors into pans in a liquid state, which is very unique. This production process fills the pans 4 times, allowing the color to dry and settle between each filling. The first step is to fill the pan with the color and let it dry for several weeks in a drying chamber to a certain degree of residual moisture. The second, third and forth step follows the same procedure. The result is pan that is ready for sale only after 3 - 5 months.
