Meet Marilyn

Hello, I'm Marilyn - I look forward to helping you with your next design project!

I graduated with honors from the University of Denver's fine arts program, where I was instructed in studio art, art history, spatial reasoning, and color theory. I've since developed a passion for design because of its applicability to these areas of interest. I worked as a Guiry's Art Manager and Web Store employee years ago, and was honored to be welcomed back to the company last year. Thanks to interesting customers, new challenges, and extremely talented colleagues, I'm learning more every day about the benefits of effective design, and how we can use it to achieve emotional and visual harmony in our spaces.

Design integrates so many of my greatest joys—organization, aesthetic expression, social interaction, and the relationships between space and color. I learn to appreciate the world's patterns and palettes more with every project. Applying these lessons to my own artistic ambitions also has helped lead toward an organic personal growth that I wouldn't experience if I didn't have an appreciation for design, and how we can all benefit from it. It's so satisfying watching clients reach their own conclusions about what gives them joy in their homes. Everyone deserves access to shelter and beauty.

I understand that opening up personal environments to new design possibilities can be a daunting and frustrating experience, but I always set out to do everything I can to make the process fun, easy, and fulfilling. I won't tell my clients what to do, but I can provide guidance and input to help them make decisions that they will be proud of, without compromising their senses of comfort and personal involvement. It's crucial to me that clients walk away feeling heard, understood, and represented.

Color is my favorite form of artistic expression, and I'm excited to explore all of its possibilities with you! Looking forward to working together.
